Joanne O'Keeffe
Joanne graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 2002 with a BSc in Information Management. After several years of working as a Retail Manger, Joanne returned to the University and took up a post as Programme Coordinator with the Careers Service. During this time she coordinated a number of programmes including the Business Education Initiative and The Insight into Management programme. Joanne now works for the Centre for Effective Education as Una Project Administrator and as the Editorial Assistant of the journal Effective Education published by Routledge.

Dr Bronagh Byrne
Bronagh Byrne is Project Manager of Una and a Research Fellow in Children’s Rights based in the School of Education at Queen’s University Belfast. Bronagh has expertise in the areas of international human rights law, children’s rights, disability, equality and inclusion, and qualitative methodologies with particular focus on the application of children’s rights standards to local practice.
Bronagh’s background is in the area of young people, disability and education, in which she attained her doctorate. Bronagh previously worked as a researcher for the Centre on Human Rights for Disabled People where she was responsible for coordinating and developing the Centre’s policy and research activities and developing expertise in rights-based issues for disabled people, including children and young people. Bronagh is also a member of the Queen’s University Research Forum for
the Child and jointly co-ordinates the Forum’s Exploring Children’s Rights Special Interest Group. Recent publications have focused on the rights of children with disabilities and working with young children as co-researchers.
